Verisign has alarmed the online security industry with its reluctant disclosure of repeated hack attacks on its network in 2010. The infrastructure company supports key servers of the Internet’s backbone, serving as Top Level Domain host for .com, .org and .gov. That it was repeatedly penetrated in 2010 was first quietly disclosed in an SEC filing in October 2011.
News has emerged of a vulnerability in the way RIM’s Playbook connects to corporate emails. Essentially, the flaw allows hackers to tap into the Bluetooth connection that links the PlayBook and the BlackBerry smartphone while they are in a Bridge session, which is currently the only way that a user can access his or her emails.

Microsoft has forged a deal with Baidu, China’s largest search engine, to provide search functionality in English. The deal comes a year and a half after Google exited China’s search market with much fanfare, announcing it could no longer stomach the censorship the government applied. By the end of this year, Microsoft’s search engine Bing will be on Baidu’s Web pages.
