Samsung appears to be lining up a major publicity blitz for the much-anticipated launch of the next product in its Galaxy smartphone line — the Galaxy S III. It has tweeted and blogged about an event to be held in London on May 3, where the device will be introduced. Samsung will launch the new device simultaneously in several countries with a multiplicity of wireless carriers.

It’s still too early for official sales figures, but it seems Nokia, Microsoft and AT&T just might have something of a hit on their hands with the Lumia 900 smartphone. A check at press time of Amazon’s bestseller list for cellphones with service plans showed two versions of the Lumia 900 — cyan and black — ranked as the top-selling devices.
